Let's Talk About Gas!
Have you guys ever played Tag before? It’s a favorite childhood game and played by kids all over the world! Tag, Tig, Dobby, Chasey and many other names for this simple game involves two or more players chasing other players in the attempt to tag or touch them, usually with their hands. The player who’s been Tag will be the ‘IT’ and he or she needs to tag the next player in the game! It sounds interesting doesn't it?
In conjunction with the upcoming 25th World Gas Conference which will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 2012, Task Force 2 – Youth Program is organizing a conference and carnival for youth with a similar methodology with the game but with a twist!
The theme for the youth conference is “Nurturing Future Generation in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM)” to inculcate and to generate interest in youth with STEM subjects and related working fields. Furthermore, participants will be exposed to the career opportunity, environment & world scenario and projects related to the gas industry.
The concept for the Youth Conference is set to be an informal session based on the “Download & Upload” concept. During the “Download” part, the participant will be loaded with information through different talks by renowned speakers related to the Gas and STEM industry. Then, during the “Upload” part, the participants are required to present their understanding on the “Download” session using facilities provided at the venue. This includes Video Blogging, Knowledge Café and Wall of Fame just to name a few.
This Youth Conference and Carnival is a great avenue for youth and young professionals to exchange ideas and opinions on Gas and STEM fields. What is more important, your voice will be taken by the International Gas Union (IGU) through its Task Force 2, for its strategy in nurturing youth towards the related industry.
